Description:
SIAC is responsible for the design and construction of Tournafulla Windfarm.
The project is being developed in two stages; Phase 1 was constructed in 2006
and was successfully commissioned and 'handed over' in February 2007. Phase 2
is currently under construction and 'hand over' is expected in 2008.
In essence, the project involves the design and construction of the
Civil and Electrical infrastructure necessary to accommodate 18 1.5NW Wind
Turbines including turbine foundations, 7km of site access roads, crane
hardstands, 10km of ducting and the construction of a 38kV Electrical
Sub-station.
Phase 1:
Design and build of 7.5mw phase of Windfarm including all access
roads, crane hardstands 5 turbine bases and substation building and compound.
Phase 2:
Design and build of remaining 19.5mw phase of Windfarm including all
access roads, crane hardstandings 13 turbine bases and necessary upgrading of
the substation.
