Description:
The Dunboyne (M3) Commuter Rail project is the first phase
of the reopening of the former Navan to
Clonsilla branch line. The scheme involved earth and
drainage works for the dual track branch line; construction and renovation of
9 bridges along the route including a structural steel bridge over the Royal
Canal at Clonsilla; 3 new fully-accessible Stations at Pace, Dunboyne and
Hansfield with integrated Park-and-Ride and facilities for over 1600 vehicles;
accommodation works for landowners; restoration of heritage structures;
installation of boundary fencing and acoustic barriers. Traffic
diversions and the upgrading/diversion of many live services were required for
the renovation of three of the road overbridges, demanding close consultation
with Meath and Fingal County Councils Project Management Group,
Iarnród Éireann and the relevant utility providers.
