Description:

• Beam and column construction with metal deck flooring

• The building is curved along its length, across the width and on plan to form the shape of an upturned hull of a boat with a pointed 'bow' and a squared off 'stern'. To represent the structure of a boat the side elevations have “ribs” on each main grid line formed by two columns latticed together and encased with wooden slats.
• The shape of the building was developed to reflect the nautical history of the city of Gloucester
