In a major contract win, SIAC has been appointed to provide a pre-fabricated supporting structure and mixed cladding for the King's Mill Acute Hospital.

The £320M PFI project consists of the extensive redevelopment of the existing facility to create a single unified hospital comprising 28 new wards, a new state-of-the-art Diagnostic and Treatment Centre, a new Emergency Care and Assessment Centre with an out of hours GP service, and a dedicated Women & Children's Centre.

Three T-shaped ward blocks, linked together over 5 floors, will rise above the uniquely designed Diagnostic and Treatment and Women & Children's Centres. SIAC will use a mixture of facades including its own unique offsite unitised wall cladding system, 'StructurClad', which has already been successfully installed on the Walsgrave Hospital Project and on hospitals in Swindon, Derriford and Dartford. The 'StructurClad' element of the works will be manufactured in in SIAC's workshop in Avonmouth, Bristol, UK.

• Existing healthcare facilities are to remain fully operational throughout the redevelopment period. State-of–the–art hospital facilities to serve the population of Mansfield, Sutton in Ashfield & Newark
• Total area of 140,000 sq.m and will provide 840 patient beds
• 35 year partnership between Sherwood Forest Hospitals NHS trust, Mansfield District Primary Care Trust & Skanska Innisfree (private sector consortium).
• 60% of new ward accommodation to be delivered by 2009. With the remainder complete by the first quarter of 2011.
