SEARCH THE SITE:
Proposed Dromore Pedestrian Footbridge, Killygordon, Co. DonegalWorks will commence on site on Monday 23rd July 2007 for the new Dromore Footbridge in Killygordon, Co Donegal. This new pedestrian bridge will continue the ongoing improvement of the pedestrian facilities in the area.
The new four span footbridge will be offset and independent of the existing structure. It shall be located downstream of the existing masonry arch road bridge and have a similar vertical alignment. The proposed structure consists of a 2.5m wide lattice steel girder footbridge with a total length of 113m, made up of 5 no. spans, with the single largest span being 22m Principle quantities are;
- 45 tons of structural steel
- 12 no. 600mm dia reinforced concrete columns on reinforced concrete pad foundations.
The designer is Damien McKay Ltd. Civil & Structural Engineers of Letterkenny, and the contractor is SIAC (NI) Ltd. of Newry, Co. Down. The estimated construction cost is €430,000.
