Hank Fogarty Appointed as CIF President -

28 February 2007 - New President of Construction Industry Federation Mr Hank Fogarty has been elected President of the Construction Industry Federation (CIF).

Mr Fogarty, a Director of SIAC Construction, succeeds Mr Norbert O’Reilly of Pierse. Hank Fogarty has served as a member of the CIF Executive Body and for the past two years as Senior Vice President. A qualified Engineer, Hank Fogarty became a Director of SIAC Construction in 1986.

Welcoming the election of Hank Fogarty, Mr Liam Kelleher, CIF Director General, stated: “Hank Fogarty brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the position of President of the CIF and I look forward to working with him in his new position." Speaking following his election, Hank Fogarty outlined many of the key issues facing the construction industry for the years ahead. “As a country we must continue to invest in our infrastructure to underpin the competitiveness of our economy and to ensure that we all enjoy quality public services and facilities. The growth of construction over the past decade reflects the fact that the country is in a period of infrastructure catch-up and with the continued growth of Ireland, economically and demographically, the services provided by the construction industry will remain critically important. Within this context, the CIF has prioritised a number of key areas including ongoing training and development of our workforce and improving health and safety for all our workers. I look forward to leading the CIF at a time of huge growth in the sector.”
