CCS Certification awarded to SIAC (N.I.) for Lurgan & Portadown projects
CCS Certification awarded to SIAC (N.I.) for Lurgan &
Portadown projects
James Carmody accepted the Considerate
Constructors Scheme Certificate of Performance Beyond Compliance for the
Lurgan Public Realm Scheme on behalf of the Project Team. SIAC (NI) Ltd also
received the same level of certification for the Portadown Public Realm
Project. Both Projects were undertaken as one contract but were considered as
two schemes under the CCS process due to the two distinctly separate locations
of the work sites and the different neighbourhoods. The Certificate recognises
SIAC’s measures implemented to take due consideration of the workforce and the
neighbouring environments whilst undertaking the project. SIAC have now had
Performance Beyond Compliance certification for all public realm schemes
undertaken to date in
Northern Ireland.
Brian Maguire, the local monitor for the Considerate Constructors Scheme
said: “SIAC’s construction sites and the way the company carried out its
operations in Armagh, Portadown and Lurgan
clearly reflect what the Considerate Constructors Scheme strives to achieve.
Our aim is to try and ensure that all construction sites and companies present
an image of competent management, efficiency, awareness of local environmental
issues and above all neighbourliness, so that they become a positive
advertisement, not just for themselves but for the industry as a whole.”
