The manufacture and laying of Bituminous Materials is one SIAC’s oldest businesses. Originally the South of Ireland Asphalt Company, from which SIAC is an acronym, the manufacture of Mastic Asphalt was our main business. Since laying our first 'blacktop' road in the 1920s, our business has developed and expanded into Civil Engineering projects, Roofing & Cladding, Slipform Paving, Traffic Management and M&E services.
Alongside these businesses, our Asphalt manufacture and installation business, SIAC Bituminous Products Ltd, has been an industry leader and at the forefront of pavement technology, ever evolving, developing and rising to meet customer requirements and challenges. An example of this is evidenced through one our best known ranges - Duracolour. For over 20 years SIAC Bituminous Products Ltd has been actively paving colour into our urban landscape and amenities, adding colour can enhance architectural buildings, delineate pedestrian areas, cycle paths and parks, overall, creating a more interesting built environment. Duracolour offers our clients a high performance aesthetically pleasing finish with the benefits of using a durable, strong, flexible material.
We operate a state-of-the art computerised Asphalt Plant at Monastery Road, Clondalkin, Dublin which is situated just off the N7 just 6km from Dublin City centre and 500m from junction 9 of the M50. Our location situates us ideally to service not only all of Dublin but the greater Leinster region also. At our Clondalkin Plant we manufacture and supply both ‘standard’ black and specialised coloured asphalt surfacings to current Irish and European Standards
Obviously, at SIAC Bituminous Products Ltd we have a bias toward our products. With our vast experience (100+ years to be exact) in the pavement industry you could almost call what we do at this stage, a passion. Combined with our thrust for innovation and the advancements which allow for greater understanding of materials properties and installation practices, we are better placed than ever before to advise our clients on the materials which best suits their requirements.
